As a monument to inventorship, the original Patent Office building in Washington,
D.C. is a historical landmark of American ingenuity. Designed by William Parker
Elliot, it embraces elegant Grecian Doric architecture adorned with a portico of
columns. Construction took over 30 years, starting in 1836. Our PTO-01 shown
above is a reproduction of a chromolithograpg by E. Sachse, 1855. Realistically
reproduced on archival canvas, double matted and framed. 15” x 23” overall.
