This cover design was adopted in 1932 to commemorate the landmark relocation of the Patent Office to the U.S. Department of Commerce building, which appears finely etched with intricate details. This cover design initially featured the old Patent Office building. It was revised to reflect the 1932 Patent Office relocation.
